Metal and steel buildings in historic Anniston

Anniston is the Calhoun County seat, a historic city with a long industrial and military past.  It sits on the slope of Blue Mountain in northeastern Alabama.

We have one office, in Blountsville.  We do not have an office in Anniston.

An iron city with a lot of history

Anniston had 21,564 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 46 square miles.  It was settled in 1872 and incorporated in 1883.  The name combines Annie, the daughter-in-law of founder Daniel Tyler, with ton, a reference to iron ore.[2]

Anniston has a long record with the Army, including Fort McClellan, which opened in 1917 and closed in 1999, and the Anniston Army Depot, which services tracked vehicles.  A city with that kind of industrial and military history tends to have warehouses, shops and older commercial sites.[2]

If you own property here, the building question may be about a commercial building, a storage structure, or a new roof on something that has stood for decades.  RBC can talk through steel options, although the right choice depends on your site and use.[2]

Questions for Anniston property owners

General information.  Every project is different, so call us about yours.

Does RBC handle commercial buildings for an older Anniston site?

RBC designs and builds commercial steel buildings and offers turnkey work from skeleton to finished interior.  What is possible on an older lot depends on the site, so start with a call.[2]

Commercial metal buildings

Can metal roofing work on an older masonry building?

Metal roofing and siding is used on many building types.  Have your roof inspected and talk with us about what would work for your structure.[2]

Metal roofing and siding

How do I find out what is needed to build on Blue Mountain slopes?

Hillside parcels can raise site and drainage questions.  Ask the city or Calhoun County about your property and then talk with us about the design.[2]

RBC services

Do you serve Anniston from your Blountsville office?

RBC serves about a 100 mile radius around the Blountsville office, and Anniston falls inside it.  Call to talk about your project.[2]
