From Lawrence Chapel to a school town

The area was first settled in the 1840s and was called Lawrence Chapel before taking the name Fairview from a local Methodist church in the 1890s.  By the early 1900s the community had several mills and a popular resort hotel, and its first high school went up in 1923.[2]

Fairview incorporated as a town in 1968 and counted 543 people in 2020.  Land around town is part of a county where poultry and eggs lead agricultural sales, so outbuildings, hay storage and poultry houses are a familiar sight.  If you are planning one, a metal building is worth pricing against other options.[2,3]
