From a highway stop to an interstate junction
Before Interstate 65 was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, US 31 was the main route north from Birmingham toward Nashville, and Fultondale had hotels and attractions along it. The city name joins Fulton Springs and Glendale, and it was established in 1947.[2]
Today the Interstate 22 interchange, opened in June 2016, adds another route. Commercial growth is concentrated along the I-65 and Walkers Chapel Road corridor, so many properties nearby may suit commercial or service buildings in steel.[2]

Fultondale questions about buildings
General information. Every project is different, so call us about yours.
What can a small business near the I-65 corridor build in steel?
Many small businesses use steel for offices, shops, storage and service space. The design depends on your use, the lot and local approvals. We can talk about the general options by phone.[2]
Can I get a wired and plumbed building rather than a bare frame?
Is a metal roof worth considering after the 2021 tornado?
Many owners in tornado-affected areas look again at roofing. Metal roofing is one option, though it depends on your building and budget. Check with your insurer and the local permitting office as well.[2]
Do you have lots of room for a home-based business with a shop?
With a 12 square mile city, some parcels have room for a home plus a shop. A barndominium or a separate shop building may fit, depending on your land.[2]
