A town named for a lookout
The community grew up on a high bluff overlooking the Coosa River, and the bluff was once a Native American lookout station. It was renamed Hoke's Bluff in 1853 after settler Daniel Hoke Jr., who arrived in 1850.[2]
Hokes Bluff was incorporated in 1946 with about 1,200 residents. The 2020 census counted 4,446, and the city lies in eastern Etowah County next to Gadsden and Glencoe.[2]
Any building site is a good reason to think about the foundation early. If you are planning a barn, shop or home, a call can help sort out what your property might need.[2]
