Settlers arrived in the 1840s, and the name comes from natural ponds ringed by holly trees. The community grew in the 1850s in anticipation of a railroad and had a post office by 1888. The town incorporated in 1906.[2]
With about 851 people in 2020 and 3.93 square miles of town limits, Holly Pond is surrounded by acreage in a county led by poultry and eggs. Barns, equipment sheds and shops are part of daily life here. If you are planning one, a pole barn is a common place to start.[2,3]
