Alabama's sixth-largest city

Hoover steel buildings from big lots to office parks

Hoover is large, spread across Jefferson and Shelby counties, and mixes office parks with quiet residential land.  RBC Buildings serves the area with custom steel buildings.

We have one office, in Blountsville.  We do not have an office in Hoover.

A city of fifty square miles

Hoover covers about 50 square miles in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and spans both Jefferson and Shelby counties.  It incorporated on April 28, 1967, and was named for local insurance owner William H. Hoover.[2]

With that much ground, Hoover includes everything from the Riverchase Office Park to residential parcels on its edges.  Commercial owners may think of steel for shops and warehouses, while residential owners may think of garages, workshops and metal roofing.[2]

Hoover in brief

  • The 2020 Census recorded 92,606 residents, and the source calls Hoover the sixth-largest city in Alabama.[2]

  • The Riverchase Galleria opened in 1986.[2]

  • Hoover Metropolitan Stadium hosted the Birmingham Barons from 1988 through 2013.[2]

  • Interstate 65, Interstate 459 and U.S. Route 31 all cross the city.[2]

  • Top employers include Regions Bank, Hoover City Schools and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.[2]

Can steel serve a small office or warehouse business near I-459?

Steel buildings are used for many small commercial needs.  The design depends on your use and the site.  We can talk through general options.[2]

Commercial metal buildings

I have a larger lot in Hoover.  Could a barndominium work?

On a larger parcel, a barndominium is a possibility.  Utilities, zoning and your site shape the answer, so start with the city or county office.[2]

How can I see what a finished building might look like?
