Rebuilt after 1864 on U.S. 431

Steel buildings in New Hope, the town that rebuilt under a new name

New Hope sits on U.S. Route 431 in southeastern Madison County, with a history of rebuilding.  That makes it a fitting place to talk about durable buildings.

Burned in 1864, renamed in 1883

The town began as Cloud's Town in 1829 and was incorporated as Vienna in 1832.  Union forces burned it on December 15, 1864, and it was reincorporated in 1883 as New Hope after the New Hope Methodist Church.[2]

The 2020 Census counted 2,889 residents.  With 8.7 square miles and open ground, many properties suit workshops, barns or a barndominium, depending on your lot.[2]

New Hope questions on land and durability

General information.  Every project is different, so call us about yours.

What type of building fits the lots along Highway 431?

Many road-frontage lots take a shop, storage building or small commercial space.  The right choice depends on your parcel and access.[2]

Commercial metal buildings

I want a long-lasting roof for an older house.  Is metal worth a look?

Metal roofing is a common choice for people who want longevity.  Ask about materials and look at price lists, noting prices change.[2]

Can a pole barn be built to hold chickens or a small flock?

RBC builds agricultural and chicken houses, and Smith Poultry and Supply provides poultry equipment.  A small flock may need very different design from a commercial house, so describe your plan.[2]
