A river seat with visitors and history
Scottsboro was founded by Robert T. Scott around 1850 to 1853 and incorporated on January 20, 1870. The 2020 census counted 15,578 residents, and it is the county seat of Jackson County.[2]
Visitors come for the Unclaimed Baggage Center and for First Monday Trade Days. The Scottsboro Boys Museum and Cultural Center opened in February 2010, and a Memphis and Charleston Railroad depot built in 1861 was restored as a museum in 2012.[2]
The town is near Guntersville Lake, and lake living communities such as Goose Pond have drawn development. A lake lot and a downtown shop ask for different buildings, and a steel building can be sized for either.[2]
