Steel buildings for Trussville and the Cahaba River side of Jefferson County

Trussville sits on the Jefferson and St. Clair county line, and RBC Buildings serves it from our Blountsville office.  If you are planning a shop, garage, barn or roof, here is how local property tends to line up with the building types we design.

We have one office, in Blountsville.  We do not have an office in Trussville.

A small town that became a city of 26,000

Trussville was incorporated as a town in 1947 and became a city in 1957.  By the 2020 Census it counted 26,123 residents, and it covers about 22 square miles across Jefferson and St. Clair counties.[2]

A city that spans two counties can mean a mix of neighborhood lots, older homes and larger tracts.  Many properties in a place like this have room for a detached workshop, an equipment shed or a barndominium, depending on the lot and what the town or county permitting office allows.[2]

Questions from Trussville property owners

General information.  Every project is different, so call us about yours.

Can a metal garage or workshop sit comfortably on a typical Trussville residential lot?

Often yes, since steel buildings can be designed to many footprints.  How it fits depends on your lot size, setbacks and the rules of the city or county, so check with the building or permitting office before you settle on a plan.[2]

Residential metal buildings

I live near the Cahaba River.  Is metal siding a sensible choice for damp ground?

Metal roofing and siding do not rot the way some other materials can, which is why many people near creeks and rivers consider them.  Drainage and site prep still matter, so talk through the low spots on your property with us.[2]

We are in an older home from the Cahaba Project era.  Can a new building look like it belongs?

Color choices help a new building blend with an older neighborhood.  Our color visualizer lets you try roof and wall colors before you decide, and the town may have its own appearance questions to answer first.[2]

Do you build commercial space for the shopping areas around Trussville?

RBC designs and builds commercial metal buildings, and commercial turnkey construction can include workmanship warranties.  What fits a retail or office lot depends on the site and your plans, so call and describe it.[2]
