Northwest Cullman County town
West Point is a small town in northwest Cullman County that has grown noticeably in recent decades while staying rural.
We have one office, in Blountsville. We do not have an office in West Point.
Families began building homes here in the late 1870s, and in the early 1900s the town had a sawmill, a grist mill and a cotton gin. Telephone service arrived in 1909, the first school building went up in 1918, and a high school followed in the 1930s.[2]
West Point incorporated on October 15, 1977, and had 584 residents in 2020. The town covers about 3.875 square miles, much of it open land, in a county where poultry and eggs lead agriculture. If you are planning a barn, shed or home, it helps to start with how you will use the space.[2,3]
